Waterhouse & Dodd present a retrospective exhibition of the works of Georges Folmer, comprising important examples from each distinct phase of his career from Cubism to pure geometric abstraction. With specially selected works including many from the artist’s estate, all artworks are for sale at prices starting from $5,000 (£4,500).

The title of the exhibition, a quotation from the artist, refers to the absolute certainty with which Folmer created these works: “… there is never a sense of their having developed on the canvas; instead they have emerged fully formed, as if there was never the possibility of their looking in any way different.”

Folmer spent his life reaching out for eternal truths through his art, but with a clarity of vision and an inexhaustible desire to rationalise and to express the world in terms that he at least could understand.

Since Folmer died in 1977 there have been more than a dozen museum exhibitions devoted to his works, and at least as many acquisitions by public collections.

This is the third  exhibition in Waterhouse & Dodd of his work since 2008.
