An amateur choir with professional standards. Set up before WWII, and originally linked to Goldsmiths College, GCU has continuously performed with top and up and coming artists.Conductor Brian Wright and Pianist Stephen Jones work with us in painstaking detail to keep us at the top of our game.
Through our contracts with Raymond Gubbay Ltd, we regularly sing with other choirs at Barbican, Royal Albert Hall and the Southbank Centre. Our performances have been praised for their freshness, clarity and emotional commitment. Our repertoire ranges from traditional choral works such as Messiah, B Minor Mass, Dream of Gerontius, to less familiar works like Tippett’s Mask
Held in South Kensington, GCU Wednesday evening rehearsals are friendly and rewarding. Though an auditioned choir, auditions are friendly to help with any nerves. We have a special deal for members under 26 and a further deal for members under 30. Why not come along to our carol concert at Holy Trinity, Sloane Square on 6 December 2019?
From the audience you can dust off your vocal cords, you can ask questions and email firstname.lastname@example.org Those who join on 8th Jan 2020 could be performing Rossini and Puccini with us on 30th March at Queen Elizabeth Hall.
