Pretty Little Liars (series review)

Pretty Little Liars is about a group of five friends who go to the same school. Alison, the main girl who created the group (the queen bee), went missing which led to her four friends Emily, Spencer, Hanna, and Aria splitting up and going their  separate  ways, however when Alison’s body was found and they began receiving messages from “A” they got back together.  As the years go by, each girl finds herself facing a new set of challenges but their lives are upended when anonymous text messages from “A” threaten to expose all their secrets, both old secrets the girls were sure only Alison knew, and newer secrets developed after Alison’s disappearance. They end up devoting their whole life on finding out who “A” is.  One of the main characters Emily secret was that she was in love with Alison so was in the closet.  Another main character Aria was in love with her high school teacher which is much older than her whilst Spencer fell in love with the boy everyone had thought killed Alison and blinded his sister.

I enjoyed watching it because it’s so interesting, in Pretty Little Liars you don’t know what to expect unlike most shows where you can easily guess what’s going to happen next.  Pretty Little Liars highlights the theme of loyalty because the four girls would do anything for each other. Every episode they get closer to answering the main question which is who is “A”. The whole series is made up of secrets and mysteries.
