Cambridge dominate 164th annual boat race

The Cambridge Men’s rowers completed a rout over Oxford Men’s after the women’s race was won by the Light Blues in convincing fashion earlier that day.

In the 164th annual boat race, the Cambridge Women beat their opponents by a resounding seven lengths in just over 19 minutes. On a gloomy day that was marred by the attempted robbery of BBC camera equipment by a moped gang, the Cambridge Men continued in the same vein as their female counterparts to take the overall series tally to 83-80 in their favour.

To mark the first Cambridge clean sweep since 1997, the two reserve races were also won by the Light Blues.
