Great Brompton Bake Off

Royal Brompton Hospital, London, held The Great Brompton Bake Off on Friday 11 September. The fundraising initiative in aid of The Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals Charity (RBHCharity) was attended and judged by Jane Asher, actor and celebrity cake maker.

25 hospital staff baked a range of savoury and sweet cakes that included cupcakes, quiches, biscuits and bread in order to sell them to other staff and hospital visitors to raise over £600 for the charity.

The RBH Charity is an independent organisation that fundraises to buy hospital equipment, and fund vital research. The charity also helps hospitals with capital projects, outside of NHS funding.

The winning cake, a Drunken Irish Cake baked by Christine Notarriani, from the Trust’s Legal Services team, was purported to have been ‘absolutely delicious’.
