Open Garden Squares Weekend returns to Chelsea

This June, the annual Open Garden Squares Weekend returns, and the Cadogan Estate once again invites people to visit the normally private Cadogan Place Gardens North and South. On the 13th and 14th June, the historic gardens will be open to Weekend ticket holders to enjoy the stunning surroundings and entertainment in the heart of Sloane Street, just a short walk from either Sloane Square or Knightsbridge tube stations.

Formerly known as the London Botanic Garden, Cadogan Place Gardens South boasts 8.5 hectares of greenery and features a striking sculpture by David Wynn OBE. Cadogan Place Gardens North, which will be opening to visitors for the first time this year, is the perfect garden for a leisurely stroll, featuring a selection of unusual trees and gentle winding paths for visitors to follow.

Cadogan Estates is thrilled to announce the return of internationally acclaimed and BBC Radio regulars Oompah Brass who will be entertaining the crowds on Saturday 13th with their unique musical genre of Oom-Pop; Bavarian-style re-workings of classic pop, soul and rock songs. This will be followed by French singer and accordionist Garance Louis on Sunday 14th.

Guests can enjoy mouth-watering treats as the nearby institution ‘The Rib Room’ at Jumeirah Carlton Tower Hotel goes ‘on the Road’ Alternatively, visitors can make the most of the English summer and stay for an indulgent afternoon tea – try the English Strawberry Eton Mess or Golden sultana scones with Jersey clotted cream and strawberry preserve. All dishes cost just £5-£6.

For those in need of a refreshing drink, glasses of Prosecco and Pimms will be readily available for guests to enjoy in the gardens in classic British summertime style. Picnic blankets will also be offered to visitors so they can comfortably enjoy lunch in the beautiful leafy surroundings.

Tickets are £10 online from www.opensquares.org or £12 from the gate on the day for access to all London gardens. Single admission to one garden is £3 and children under 12 go for free. The enchanting gardens will open from 10am – 5pm on Saturday 14 June and Sunday 15 June 2015.
