Junior parkrun comes to Paddington Recreation Ground

The first junior parkrun in Westminster is set to start on Sunday January 27, 2019 at Paddington Recreation Ground, operated by Everyone Active in partnership with Westminster City Council.

Junior parkrun is a free, weekly timed 2KM course for children aged four to 14. All abilities are welcome and children can run with a parent or guardian where encouragement is needed.  Youngsters should pre-register with parkrun to receive a personalised barcode which will be scanned as they finish their run to give them their time. The idea is that each week they can see their progress and achievement.

The Junior parkrun will start at 9.00am sharp and it’s recommended young runners and their parents arrive by 8.45am to ensure they are ready to start on time.

“We are delighted to be chosen as the venue for Westminster’s first junior parkrun,” says Cheyenne Green, General Manager at Everyone Active.  “parkrun has been a phenomenal success for adults and junior parkrun is now beginning to take off too. The event is very friendly and inclusive and all abilities are welcome to come along and have a go.  We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone here and see the children’s confidence and ability grow week by week.”
