Local boy meets footballing heroes thanks to hospital Charity

Freddie Lane aged 8, was given the chance to meet players from Chelsea Football Club thanks to Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals Charity who arranged the day through the Chelsea Foundation.

Freddie Lane, a cystic fibrosis patient at Royal Brompton was given the opportunity to meet his footballing heroes, along with a group of other supporters.

They had the unique opportunity to see the first-team squad put to the test during training before getting to meet the players for photographs and autographs. Among the famous faces were David Luiz, Olivier Giroud, Cesc Fabregas and Willian.

Freddie’s parents, Ellie and Ollie Lane, who also attended, were delighted to see their son so excited, with memories to ‘cherish for a long time to come’. His mother Ellie said:‘Freddie is a massive Chelsea fan so today was just incredible for him. He has challenges every day, with his physio and medications and listening to me nagging him so today was in recognition of what he has to face.’
