Staff members of The Stafford paid a visit to local Chelsea pensioners at The Royal Hospital this month, kick-starting festive celebrations for residents of the Margaret Thatcher Infirmary.
The staff hosted a delightful Christmas Afternoon Tea Party for veterans of World War II and the Korean War, arranged as part of a wider local community relations programme that aims to put The Stafford at the heart of the K&C neighbourhood.
As a show of support for the service of Chelsea’s veterans, The Stafford London runs an ongoing invitation for these ex-servicemen and women at the hotel’s restaurant, The Game Bird, on the first Monday of each month. Due to limited mobility, many are not able to attend, so The Stafford brought the party to them instead!
It has been a busy period for The Royal Hospital Chelsea, with events such as the ‘Ceremony of the Christmas cake’ that was attended to by KCW’s Marian Maitland and the annual ‘Ceremony of Christmas Cheeses’.
