While Myanmar’s official figure is 400, the Medecins Sans Frontiere, also known as Doctors Without Borders, has stated that at least 6,700 Rohingya have been killed since August. The mostly Muslim minority have been suffering as a result of a military crackdown. Although the Myanmar army denies it, there have been many reports of killings of civilians, burning of villages and raping of women and girls. Over 647,000 Rohingya refugees have fled to Bangladesh. MSF have said the death toll may not be final. They said that people are still fleeing and there are still reports of violence.
