The Tabernacle in Notting Hill is hosting a live Kirtan event this coming Saturday 16th September, featuring some of the UK’s finest singers and musicians. Instruments ranging from the traditional Indian Sitar and Tabla, to the dynamic Spanish Guitar and Drum, are sure to get the energy flowing at one of the most beautiful and intimate venues in London.

Bringing to the stage the ancient yogic art of Kirtan, a tool to Silence the mind and reveal ones true inner sound, which is at the heart of all creation. It is said, that Lord Shiva himself created the entire universe through the sounds of his Damaru (small drum), a romantic notion which just happens to be consistent with the revelations of vibration through Quantum physics.

The event has come about through a team of volunteers from the Sound & Silence project, who have been working hard to create a series of events to enable individuals to bring stillness to the mind. Events at the Nehru Centre and The Bhavan in London earlier in the year received outstanding praise.

The next highly anticipated event is sure to be an extravagant musical affaire, all original compositions with a mostly improvised set. The perfect blend of high energy vocals with fast paced rhythms along with soft flowing melodies and intricate tones. Look out for the grand finale, an ode to mother nature, a beautifully composed melody to accompany the ancient words of praise for Maa Parvati.
