Royal Trinity Hospice has appointed Adrian Williams as its new Chair. He succeeds Derek Wyatt who is retiring on 30 June after six successful years in the role.
Adrian Williams (51) has been a trustee at Trinity since June 2014. He held senior positions in private equity and investment banking at Bridgepoint, HSBC Investment Bank and Hawkpoint during a 25 year career. Since retiring from the City Adrian has sat on the boards of several companies and non-profit organisations in the UK and overseas.
Adrian said “It is a great privilege to be invited to become chairman of Royal Trinity Hospice. I feel passionately about the huge contribution Trinity makes in bringing compassion, care, hope and choice to patients and families when they need it most. Our operational excellence, strong stakeholder support and fantastic team give us a great platform as we expand our impact and reach in the communities we serve.”
Trinity Chief Executive Dallas Pounds said, “I am delighted that Adrian will be taking the role as Chair of Trustees here at Trinity. Having been a Trustee here for 3 years he knows us well and I am confident will provide great leadership to help us meet our strategic aims. The Executive Team and I are really looking forward to working with him.
Derek has provided strong and creative leadership over the past 6 years, which can be seen across the charity. We will miss his enthusiasm and passion, and wish him luck in his new ventures.”
Adrian takes up the position at an exciting time for the charity. Trinity has ambitious plans to grow the number of people it supports, including by increasing access to services in the northern half of its catchment area, improving support for people with dementia and reaching out to more people who are homeless.”
