What if I told you, you could have your cake and eat it too. For those of us with the sinful sweet tooth and the constant urge to gain approval from our social media family, a humble chef by the name Dominique Ansel has created the ultimate recipe to satisfy our cravings. The Dominique Ansel Bakery on Elizabeth Street is home to eye-grabbing desserts that will taste even better than they look on your Snapchat story. It is no wonder that with their unique combinations and pleasant designs, the bakery is always busy. If you can’t decide between a doughnut or a croissant, have a cronut – a combination of both that is too scrumptious and high in calories to resist.
I always thought smores were meant to be eaten around the campfire whilst my friends and I shared stories and laughed, Dominique Ansel showed me otherwise. On a simple stick there seemed to be what appeared to look like a smore (a roasted marshmallow). Two bites in, the temperature had dropped and in my mouth was the taste of a honey-coated marshmallow intertwined with a chocolate coated Tahitian vanilla ice cream delivering all sorts of sensations and tastes. My Instagram friends liked it too. The bakery caters to your lunch and dinner needs too from a selection salads, burgers, etc. However, one look at the dessert counter and you forget what time is and that you have cholesterol. A friendly staff were eager to make sure my companion and I were welcome and importantly that we enjoyed the food.
It’s a like from me.
