National Army Museum launches new programme

The National Army Museum is set to launch a new programme of Lunchtime Lectures and Celebrity Speaker sessions for local residents. With the Museum currently undergoing a major redevelopment project, they will be hosted in the historic Army & Navy Club on Pall Mall. Many of the sessions are free to attend, with historians, experts, celebrity speakers and even veterans set to cover a variety of topics including the First World War, Battle of Waterloo and D-Day. Celebrities lined up include Nick Lloyd, Andrew Roberts, Taylor Downing, Robin Savage and Jenny Uglow. Those keen to attend can view the programme at www.nam.ac.uk/whats-on, and register their attendance. The sessions will be a wonderful way for residents to find out more about eras in the history of the British Army, as well as a chance to enjoy the Army & Navy Club’s hospitality.

Hundred Days: The End of the Great War

In his groundbreaking study of the Great War, Nick Lloyd examines its last days, beginning at the heralded turning-point on the Marne in July 1918 and the next four months which included some of the bloodiest battles of the War.

Nick Lloyd is a Senior Lecturer in Defence Studies at King’s College London. He specialises in British military and imperial history in the era of the Great War.
